This is the UVU MENTALITY "CODE OF ETHICS"

Law #1 INSPIRATION

In a culture obsessed with measuring talent and ability, we often overlook the important role of inspiration. Most people confuse it with motivation because the difference between the two is so subtle. Motivation is a push factor. It's an outside force that is compelling you to take action, even if you don't necessarily want to. Inspiration, on the other hand, is more of a pull or driving force. It's something that comes from within that gets us to proactively give our best effort. Being inspired enables us to elevate our state which dissuades us from the ordinary. It empowers us to live new experiences and break through our limitations.

The world has provided us with multiple success stories to get inspired by. It is our duty to follow in the footsteps of the greats that have come before us. One needs to fully understand and deeply believe that the human potential is completely unlimited. Our ability to get inspired and inspire others contributes to our greater mission of elevating the human race’s experience on this earth. We strongly believe that living in a state of inspiration stimulates growth and provides us the certainty we need to keep moving forward. Even in tougher times, we stay focused and determined because we never know who we could be inspiring. There’s always someone looking, always.

Law #2 INTEGRITY

Integrity is the very foundation of our mentality. For the majority of people, they evaluate someone’s integrity based on their own set of rules. If other people follow those certain rules, they’re considered to have integrity. But true integrity, in its essence, is not only about  being honest and holding your word with others in a consistent manner. Real and authentic integrity starts with YOURSELF.

It means being consistently and un-promisingly honest with yourself. Holding your own word and most of all, acting accordingly. It’s about maintaining a strong sense of moral and ethical values and holding everyone close to you to the same standard. In order to become the best version of yourself and be respected, you must first respect yourself.

Whether it be in our personal or professional life, whether it be a promise we made to somebody or to ourselves, we hold ourselves accountable and stand for what’s right. That’s what TRUE leaders do. And remember, we ALWAYS have a choice. When we say something we do it.

Law #3 BRAVERY

Our entire lives are shaped by our decisions. We ALWAYS have a choice. True bravery means doing the right thing, simply because it is the right thing to do.

When facing a difficult situation, we all have this little voice inside our heads pointing to the easy way out… This happens because our brains are wired to ensure our survival. As soon as it feels danger, whether it be because you’re going through a hard workout or simply because you messed up at work, it will always try to hide or take the path of least resistance.

Bravery is a part of our creed to help you Override this biological reflex and act as a champion. Stand up and face what’s to come, no matter how much it sucks. You need to be willing to die for what you aspire to accomplish in order to reach your true potential.

Law #4 RESPONSIBILITY

The first step to taking control of your life is taking responsibility for it. We mean EVERYTHING. The good, the bad, the ugly. Too many people fall into the trap of the “Blame Game” where they “Logically” justify why they’re not where they would like to be in life. We like to call this ‘’Logical Bullshit’’. The reason why we tend to do that is because, again, we (The Human Animal) are programmed to choose the path of least resistance to ensure our survival.

We do this because the event or the people we are used to blaming aren’t usually around to defend themselves. Don’t get us wrong, we KNOW you’ve been through some hard stuff, we’ve all been through a lot in our own world. But the reality is, nothing will change until you decide to take FULL responsibility for the problem, event or person in question.

It also gives you full control of your life. If you take all the ownership for your actions and of the consequences that come with them, you are now the only person that can affect your life. Positively or negatively. Responsibility equals control.

Law #5 STRENGTH OF WILL

What are you going to do when all hell breaks loose? When everything you planned for goes out the window? We know what we’ll be doing. We come back for more and GO EVEN HARDER. Our strength of will comes from our ability to get inspired and be insanely  focused on our desired goals.

Our Mentality comes from the fact that we understand that shit never goes according to plan. We embrace that and remember that it’s not as much as the HOW we will achieve our goals but more of the WHY we MUST achieve them. This is called intrinsic motivation. The understanding that there is no need for outside motivators. Everything we need is already inside of us.

Once you come to peace with that fact, everything changes. You understand the mindset is not oriented towards a “No Matter What” frame but more of a “No Matter How” framework. We remain open to any changes in the itinerary as long as the destination is still the same. Once we set our target on something, we get it. Plain and simple.

We accept that failure is not an option, even less the thought of giving up. We achieve that mindset by controlling the thoughts we allow in our minds and the people we accept in our circle. Our mentality has no place for negative energy. We are too busy advancing and achieving.
